Passover always leads to sacrifice and this time the final sacrifice would be Jesus.Дuring both Passover and Easter, the realities were bleak, and the outcomes were uncertain. As a matter of fact, celebrating Passover (officially called Feast of Unleavened Bread) is the reason Jesus was back in Jerusalem at the time He was crucified. Along with His instructions about the meal, He went on to tell them to do this EVERY year afterward. God didnвЂ™t have the Hebrews do this just one time. In other words, socially distance yourself from others because there is something dangerous out there, feed yourself well so youвЂ™ll have energy for tomorrow and be ready to do who-knows-what in the morning. Their only hope (according to Exodus 12) was to sacrifice a spotless lamb, put its blood on their doorposts, roast the meat, and eat it with their clothes and shoes on. The Hebrews were under harsh economic conditions, experiencing inhumane working environments, and held up in their homes waiting for a deadly plague to pass. Like today, the conditions of the first Passover were a frightening time.

The fact that this virus has occurred as we are approaching Easter and Passover has not escaped the notice of people who study the Bible and have Judeo-Christian beliefs. Much like our reality after 9/11, we are going to come out different, but honestly (and biblically) I believe it will be for the better. Normalcy will return, but it will be a new version. As of this writing, April 20 is the closest date we have that things might вЂњturn back to normal.вЂќ After what we have all witnessed globally, IвЂ™m not sure that things can ever return to the way they used to be. From the way we grocery shop and work, to how we vacation or even worship, most of us are making adaptations. But true.You probably feel the same way: adaptation overload.

Still, IвЂ™m betting IвЂ™ll forget I saw this movie entirely by next summer. IвЂ™m a big crier at movies, and the only thing that elicited any emotion from me was the baby, because the one thing they did right was to pick triplets that will melt you heart with a smile. Sometimes that works out just fine, but in this case, the characters were so benign I didnвЂ™t care about either of them. The problem is that I knew from the start exactly what would happen with Holly and Messer, and exactly how the movie would end, despite the writersвЂ™ best efforts to distract me with a вЂњtwistвЂќ, Josh Lucas, and adorable baby antics. It HAS to work!Д«ut the problem here isnвЂ™t really the inconsistencies or that I didnвЂ™t buy all of the neighbors being total stereotypes (big, sassy lady who LOVES food and bosses her husband around, hilarious gay couple, nerdy babysitter)-or even that Messer is supposedly so hot every single person who sees him wants to have sex with him ASAP.

Never mind the fact that вЂњsaving moneyвЂќ goes completely against everything else we know about Messer, just throw it in there. What? WerenвЂ™t they both just sitting around saying how broke they BOTH are? Messer didnвЂ™t have money to help with the house, but now that itвЂ™s for YOU, cool. I know the Director and Writers were probably going for realism, but you canвЂ™t have the two main characters complain about money problems off-handedly and then make a major plot point around Messer loaning Holly money to expand her bakery. Months of montages go by while they find their balance, creating an awkward family dynamic that eventually ends up with discovered вЂњfeelingsвЂќ, but it all comes off as completely unbelievable. And then, my friends, hilarity ensues вЂ“but youвЂ™ve also seen all of that in the preview. Actually, you donвЂ™t need to guess, as that part is all in the preview.ДЄfter brief deliberation, they determine that keeping little Sophie and raising her together is the best option, since all of the friendsвЂ™ family members are completely incompetent (guy w/oxygen tank, couple with 9 kids, a touring stripper!). So get this, Katherine Heigl (as Holly) and Josh Duhamel (as Messer) play polar opposites who hate each other but get stuck raising their best friendsвЂ™ baby together after a car accident and then GUESS WHAT HAPPENS. Yet another effort to turn out a money-making romantic comedy (psst вЂ“ hey guys? There will never be another When Harry Met Sally), Life As We Know It should be re-titled вЂњLife As We Know It if Everyone Looked Perfect and Had Amazing Houses and JobsвЂќ.
